With the PS2 still selling very well and in response to critics over a lack of PS3 games, more than 100 first and third-party PS3, PSP and PS2 games will launch during the next few months. Peter Dille, Senior Vice President of Marketing for SCEA, said, "We are excited by the content being developed by our partners, but are also looking forward to launching PlayStation-branded exclusive games created by our own worldwide studios this quarter and throughout the rest of 2007." …

Last week, posters on GameFAQs discovered a hidden secret in which God of War II could be played in HD mode, but apparently, this mode is only exclusive to television sets which run the NTSC signal. In other words, only gamers in Japan and the US will be able to take advantage of this upgrade, while Europe cannot because it runs on the PAL system….

Still want more Guitar Hero? If you were in London today, you would have been able to meet the president and founder of RedOctane, Kai Huang. He showed up in London riding in a custom made Guitar Hero publicity bus and announced that Guitar Hero III will be on its merry way to consoles just before the merry Christmas season begins. A DS version will be available sometime early next year. …

Blast! Entertainment, a UK game publisher, is reaching out to produce a new PS2 game based on the offbeat character made famous by English comedian Rowan Atkinson — Mr. Bean. The Mr. Bean television show debuted in the 1990s and has steadily become a popular cult show in the UK and around the world in re-runs. The Mr. Bean character has already appeared in several films, and in 2002, a Mr. Bean animated series was produced. The cartoon show has proven to be a success, with 67% of UK children under the age of 11 viewing it regularly. The original Mr. Bean television show is still in syndication and is watched in many countries….
